Werewool harnesses the power of proteins to offer performance textiles that sacrifice nothing when it comes to color and style. Their fibers are created by programming microorganisms to biosynthesize proteins with specific structures that mimic aesthetic and performance properties found in nature. These proteins are then crosslinked with natural biopolymers that can be sourced from plant-based agro-industrial waste streams. The final products are naturally vibrant in color, cutting out the toxic and hazardous processes currently used to dye synthetic materials, and results in preventing microplastic pollution.
