Ananas Anam’s solution to the environmental damage caused by the fashion industry comes from an unlikely source: pineapples. Piñayarn converts pineapple leaf fiber into a commercially-viable material that can be used as yarns for knitted and woven textiles. This could massively reduce the pollution caused by plastic textiles. Their products also support pineapple farmers, who are able to create a revenue stream from banana leaves, which were previously discarded as waste.
